A poorly maintained HVAC system uses excess energy, and makes your home uncomfortable.
Your heating and cooling system uses more energy than almost anything else in your home. So it’s crucial to keep it well-maintained if you want to be as energy efficient as possible. Not only that, but proper maintenance will also make your living space a lot more comfortable.

- Inspect your HVAC system to identify what kind it is. The most common types are fuel-fired and split-system electric heat pumps.
- Check all lines for proper drainage. Water—known as condensate—will form in your furnace, and should drain through the main condensate line. An inspection will help you determine whether this system is functioning properly.
- Inspect your duct system for air leaks. If you find gaps in the ductwork, these may need to be sealed or covered to prevent the conditioned air from leaking out where it isn’t wanted.
