Solar power helps you take control of how you use energy.
There are many ways to take control of your energy consumption. Here at POWER MOVES®, we love to help our members manage their electricity usage. It’s the best way to save money on your electric bill, help the environment, and even reduce the need for new power plants. Naturally, we’re happy to offer advice and tips on how you can save.
In fact, we’re so committed to helping you reduce your energy consumption that we’ll even give you rebates to do it! But let’s say you’ve already taken our advice, and used all those rebates. Isn’t there anything else you can do to take control of how you consume energy?
The answer is yes: It’s called Co-op Solar. Co-op Solar lets you decide how much clean solar power you use each month. It’s a great way to invest in clean energy, and control how your home uses energy—and what kind.
But what’s really special about Co-op Solar? It’s easier and more affordable than rooftop panels. That’s because the Co-op Solar program is run by your local electric cooperative, which means that there’s no equipment for you to install. You can also choose your level of participation, from using a little solar power to using a lot.
There are other advantages, too. The solar arrays we’ve built are located across three different states, making them less vulnerable to bad weather. While rooftop panels won’t do you much good on a cloudy day, our panels cover enough territory that a little rain over one probably won’t interfere with the others. That means more solar energy, more of the time.
And—best of all—any member of a participating co-op can sign up. Regardless of whether you own your own home or you’re renting an apartment, if you’re a member of a participating cooperative, you can sign up for Co-op Solar.
Okay, let’s take a breather. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, that’s okay: There’s a whole lot to learn! So please take a moment to see how it works, or check out the FAQ on our Co-op Solar page. And if you’re a member of a participating co-op, you can also sign up to receive more information about the program.
