We headed to Texas to learn—and came back with a couple of Gold Awards!

When we launched the POWER MOVES website, we did it so that members would have easy access to the information that saves them money and the rebates that make energy-efficient upgrades easier. But that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy a little recognition.

And so we’re thrilled to let you in on some good news from the “Spotlight on Excellence” national awards program, sponsored by the Council of Rural Electric Communicators and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA). We earned two Gold Awards: PowerMoves.com earned “Best Website” and our fridge recycling video took “Best Use of Digital Communications.”

We got this good news while we were at the NRECA CONNECT conference in San Antonio on May 14. We’d like to say we celebrated accordingly, but we mostly worked. Clearly, this is no time to rest on our laurels. We’ve set a new precedent and hope to keep moving past it with more improvements and better ideas to get information to our members.

Thanks to all of you who come to the site, and please do keep stopping by. If you have suggestions for improvement, or if there’s information you’d like that you don’t currently see here, just let us know. The whole reason we’re here is to make sure you’re getting the facts and rebates you want.

Oh, and if you’re wearing those green sunglasses we gave away at last year’s annual meetings, you’ve got an award-winning idea on your head. That project took silver in the “Best Wild Card” category. So go ahead and walk a little taller. We certainly are, and we’re happy to be a part of so many lives and families—through generation after generation.

She also was helping flyers in town: bees, hummingbirds and other pollinators sipping nectar from flowers and plants near the sign and more than 45 nearby locations.
